From the Archives: Circa 2008: 1940s Makeup — Christian Dior’s 1947 New Look

A look from my archive portfolio, focusing entirely on the technical discipline and precise geometry of mid-century beauty.

• Lips: Reshaped and free-drawn for symmetry, utilizing strictly a professional lip brush and classic crimson lipstick to achieve crisp, clean borders.

• Brows: Hand-sculpted and structured using a dense angled brush and powdered matte eyeshadow.

• Eyes & Face: Soft, balanced facial contouring paired with cool-toned eyeshadow (grey-green, common hue, so was grey-blue), selected to match their war uniforms).
