A soothing Japanese‑inspired miso soup where pear adds gentle sweetness and silkiness to the broth. Ginger warms and energizes, while vegetables add texture and nourishment. It’s delicate, aromatic and perfect for a beauty‑forward wellness meal.

Ingredients

1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
3 cups vegetable broth
2 tbsp white miso paste
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup shredded cabbage or bok choy
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
2 green onions, chopped
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp soy sauce
1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm the broth
    In a pot, heat vegetable broth over medium heat with ginger slices.
  2. Add vegetables
    Add carrots, cabbage, and mushrooms. Simmer 5–7 minutes until tender.
  3. Add pear
    Stir in pear slices and cook 2 minutes until softened but not mushy.
  4. Whisk miso
    In a small bowl, whisk miso with a ladle of hot broth until smooth.
  5. Combine
    Add miso mixture back into the pot. Do not boil once miso is added.
  6. Finish
    Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  7. Serve
    Ladle into bowls and enjoy warm.
