I first read Dior’s autobiography so many years ago in its original version so French, and later an English translated version was gifted to me. Reading from Dior with his time as a protégée of Lucien Lelong, along with Pierre Balmain, during the Second World War. Plus, reading from himself in how his House of Dior came to fruition, in addition to his iconic, legendary 1947 New Look collection, his first collection from his newly appointed fashion house, House of Dior. Truly amazing.
Of course, reading about his curations he created, coming to fruition afterwards as well.
Also, discussing his protégée Yves Saint Laurent, also the first designer to take over the House of Dior, in 1957, when Christian Dior had passed away.
