Apples have one of the most enduring wellness legacies in human history. Their story begins in the mountains of Central Asia, where wild apple forests still grow today. As trade routes expanded, apples travelled through Persia, the Mediterranean, and Europe, becoming symbols of nourishment, knowledge, and domestic life. By the time they reached North America, apples were essential to everyday living — used in cooking, preserving, cider‑making and Winter sustenance.

Historically, apples were valued not just for flavour but for function. Ancient Greeks used them in digestive tonics, while mediaeval healers relied on apple poultices to soothe inflammation and dryness. Early North American settlers turned to apples for energy, immunity, and gut support — all foundational to healthy skin.
Their beauty legacy is rooted in their natural chemistry. Apples contain vitamin C for brightness and collagen support, malic acid (AHA) for gentle exfoliation, and quercetin, a powerful antioxidant that helps defend the skin from environmental stress. Apple cider vinegar later became a folk‑beauty staple, used to clarify the complexion and balance pH.
Today, apples remain a quiet powerhouse in both nutrition and beauty. They support hydration, digestion, and skin radiance — proving that some of the most effective beauty ingredients are the ones that have been with us the longest.
