Giada‑Style Historical Context

Crostini are a classic Italian antipasto. Giada’s California‑Mediterranean style often blends:

  • fresh fruit (pear)
  • creamy cheese (ricotta)
  • herbs (basil)
  • a touch of sweetness (honey)

This combination is quintessential Giada: light, elegant and rooted in Italian simplicity with California brightness.

Storage

  • Best enjoyed immediately.
  • Ricotta mixture can be prepped 1 day ahead.
  • Slice pears just before serving to avoid browning.

Substitutions

  • Mascarpone instead of ricotta for extra creaminess.
  • Mint instead of basil for a cooler profile.
  • Orange zest added for a citrus lift.
  • Pistachios sprinkled on top for crunch.
