Let’s get right into it, shall we? Let’s discuss egg whites and perhaps a bit on egg yolks. Egg yolk is for oily skin. Egg whites are more for dehydrated skin. Not necessarily the dry skin type, considering egg whites contain water so hydration not moisture as in oil.
Egg whites are used in skin-care for their high-protein, water content and trace elements (iron, phosphorus), and B vitamins (such as vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B5 and vitamin B6). An egg yolk mask can tighten pores, reduce sebum secretion, and prevent acne.
Protein has properties that boost the healing and growth of facial tissues. Egg whites restore elasticity thanks to collagen and protein and helps to boost elasticity and to defend against skin issues such as wrinkles and fine lines. Plus, egg whites contain enzymes that help exfoliate the skin gently, this means egg whites remove dead skin cells and it can be used daily. Although, I would recommend using the egg white mask at least a couple of times a week.
Egg whites hydrate the skin while promoting a youthful and wrinkle-free skin. Using egg whites in facial masks also prevents various types of acne from formulating. I have been using an egg white mask since I was a teenager. Just placing the egg white right onto my clean face as in after I have cleansed my skin.
