Beauty Benefits

One of the reasons I love this appetizer is that the ingredients naturally align with a healthy lifestyle while still feeling luxurious and festive.

Smoked Salmon

Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which help support skin hydration and skin-barrier health.

Cucumber

Cucumber has a high water content and contains small amounts of vitamin K and antioxidants.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt provides protein, which contributes to the maintenance of healthy hair, skin, and nails.

Lemon

Lemons contain vitamin C, a nutrient involved in normal collagen formation.

Dill

Dill provides naturally occurring antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds.

Substitutions

  • Smoked salmon → smoked trout
  • Greek yogurt → whipped cream cheese
  • Dill → chives
  • Cucumber rounds → endive leaves
  • Lemon → lime

Storage

These appetizers are best enjoyed fresh.

If needed, assemble up to 4 hours before serving and store covered in the refrigerator.

Leftovers should be enjoyed within 24 hours.

Do not freeze.

Face by Stace Entertaining Tip

Arrange the cucumber rounds in concentric circles on a white serving platter and garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs around the edge. The deep green rosemary creates a festive Christmas presentation while keeping the appetizer looking sophisticated and understated.

Face by Stace Beauty Note

This is the kind of appetizer that perfectly embodies “holiday balance.” It feels luxurious enough for entertaining, yet it’s packed with ingredients often associated with wellness-focused eating. The beauty benefits happen naturally, making them feel like a lovely editorial bonus rather than the main event.
